Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, has lauded the substantial progress in the field of education in Pakistan. He highlighted the country's improved education metrics in terms of access, quality, student achievement, and gender parity. However, he also emphasized that there remains a substantial journey ahead to ensure that every child receives a quality education.
Ambassador Khan made these observations during his speech at the Annual Gala Event of the DC Chapter of The Citizen Foundation USA. He stressed that these objectives are not only vital on a national level but are also in line with the United Nations' sustainable development goals. Achieving these objectives will require the establishment of more educational institutions, increased funding, infrastructure development, the recruitment of qualified educators, enhanced gender equality, modernized curricula, and the integration of cutting-edge educational technologies.
The high-profile fundraising event drew nearly 700 prominent individuals, including business leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and community influencers of Pakistani descent. The event successfully raised $3,510,400, and the Pakistani-American community members pledged to establish seven new schools through TCF-USA.
Masood Khan extended his appreciation to TCF-USA for its significant contributions, noting that since its inception, TCF has built 1900 schools, benefiting approximately 300,000 children. The DC Chapter, in particular, has played a crucial role in establishing 43 schools in underprivileged and impoverished areas of Pakistan, offering over 5,000 children the opportunity to build a prosperous and promising future.
